Unlocking Value.
Creating Opportunity.
Indian River Alternative Assets is a Florida-based intermediary in the life settlement marketplace — working with policyholders exploring the value of an existing policy, and with investors pursuing acquisition opportunities, through a professional, transparent, and informed process.
A Florida-based intermediary for the life settlement market.
Indian River Alternative Assets, LLC is a Florida-based company focused on facilitating life settlement transactions and connecting policyholders with potential purchasers through the appropriate licensed market participants. We are based in Vero Beach, Florida, and work directly with individuals who are evaluating whether an existing life insurance policy holds value beyond its current use.
On the policyholder side, IRAA's brokerage services are performed through a licensed viatical settlement broker, who represents the policyholder and owes them fiduciary duties under Florida law. On the investor side, IRAA acts as a consultant and sourcing coordinator, not as a statutory representative of the investor. In neither role does IRAA purchase or take ownership of policies, fund policy purchases, or hold settlement proceeds — those responsibilities rest with the licensed provider, the insurer, and the independent escrow or closing parties involved in each transaction.
Our work spans both sides of the marketplace — helping policyholders evaluate whether selling a policy makes sense, and helping investors identify acquisition opportunities aligned with their own criteria — with the scope of each engagement defined by the applicable written agreement and applicable law.
Selling an existing policy, on informed terms.
A life settlement generally involves selling an existing life insurance policy to a third party for an agreed purchase price, in exchange for giving up the death benefit the policy would otherwise pay. It is one option among several available to a policyholder who no longer needs, wants, or can afford a policy.
- Why it's worth understanding
- Not every policy qualifies for a life settlement, and a settlement offer will not always exceed a policy's cash surrender value. Eligibility and valuation depend on factors specific to the policy and the policyholder, which is why a case-by-case review by appropriately licensed market participants is the starting point — not an assumption.
Wherever you stand in a transaction, IRAA can help.
IRAA serves as an intermediary, consultant, and transaction facilitator across the life settlement marketplace — working with policyholders considering a sale, and with investors seeking acquisition opportunities. The scope of each engagement is defined by the applicable written agreement and regulatory requirements.
